Description

Penobscot Bay Language School is heading to Patagonia again! We are excited to be leading another group trip to Patagonia–home to glaciers, penguins, some of the most famous peaks of the Andes Mountains, and so much more!

This bi-national (Argentina/Chile) group trip–open to all–will be led by Rockland resident, Nelson Sanchez Oyarzo, with program support from Penobscot Bay Language School.

The 10 day trip takes travelers to numerous destinations of interest throughout Patagonia, including glaciers, mountains, penguins, national parks.

The $6900 registration fee includes all hotel stays, evening meals, transportation, national parks and museum entrance tickets, and local driver/guide costs (less than half the cost of comprable guided tours of Patagonia!).

The trip starts and ends in Punta Arenas Airport (Chile) and includes a boat trip to Magdalena Island (to see Magellanic Penguins!), guided tour of Nelson's hometown of Punta Arenas, visits to Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine (National Park), Laguna Amarga, El Calafate, Glacier Perito Moreno (Argentina), El Chalten, El Calafate, as well as treks to Mirador del Torre, Mirador de los Cóndores and Mirador de las Águilas. The trip wraps up with visits to Reserva Magallanes (National Park), and the Instituto de la Patagonia Museum.

Our Guide - Nelson Sanchez Oyarzo

Growing up in Punta Arenas, Chile, in the foothills of the southernmost peaks of the Andes, not far from the Straights of Magellan, and in sight of giant prehistoric glaciers, experienced tour guide, Nelson Sanchez Oyarzo, developed a passion for his home and the surrounding natural wonders of the area. He has led numerous group treks and tours throughout Patagonia, on both Argentine and Chilean sides of the border.

Fun Fact!

Nelson has led dozens of scientific expeditions, with

teams from around the world, to Antarctica!

Ideal for adults of all ages, traveling with a partner or individually–group travel provides a safe and comfortable way to experience cultural immersion. Group comradery, a strong sense of community, and shared experiences create meaningful relationships and wonderful memories for all. Join PBLS this fall for an experience of a lifetime!
